Frequently Asked Questions
About Bongo
About Bongo
Will Bongo cure snoring?
Snoring is a sound generated by the vibration of the mucous membrane due to the air resistance when the upper airway from the nose to the throat narrows during sleep and air tries to pass through the narrowed upper airway. By inserting a bongo, it is possible to secure an air passage between the upper airways and reduce the occurrence of snoring.
Does Bongo Cure Sleep Apnea Syndrome?
Unfortunately, there is no cure for sleep apnea. Breathing is supported on days when you sleep with Bongo, but airway obstruction can occur on days when you do not use Bongo. We recommend that you continue to use it according to your physical condition.
Is it okay to stop the CPAP device and switch to Bongo?
Bongo is used overseas for mild to moderate snoring control. For mild to moderate snoring, Bongo may be an alternative. If you are currently using a CPAP device for treatment, talk to your doctor about using bongo drums. There are many people who use Bongo depending on the situation, such as when they cannot carry the CPAP device with them due to travel, business trips, evacuation in the event of a disaster, or when they cannot use the CPAP device due to a power outage.
Can I sleep soundly with Bongo?
It takes some getting used to putting on a bongo and getting a good night's sleep. Some people find it difficult to exhale at the beginning of application and feel stuffy. However, this resistance is the good thing about bongo drums, and it is a mechanism to prevent snoring. Use Bongo when you are awake, such as watching TV or reading a book, and get used to it. If you feel stuffy at bedtime, you don't have to force your nose to breathe. When you fall asleep, you should most likely naturally transition from mouth breathing to nasal breathing. If you notice it, it will be natural to wear the Bongo.

How long does it take to get used to Bongo?
The feeling of discomfort will fade in about "3 days to 1 week". Because you can resist, you may be able to use it comfortably at bedtime by wearing a bongo while watching TV or reading during the day and getting used to it. Doesn't it hurt to put a Bongo in your nose?
There are individual differences in the fit, but by using a soft material (silicone), we try to make it as hard as possible to feel pain and discomfort. It doesn't matter if it's too tight or too loose. For the installation method, see the attached instruction manual and the instruction manual video on the homepage.
